Mapping Porous Borders

Still from Begoñas and Basslines, 3min video (2024)

I will be presenting a new video work at the Making Connections: Artistic research across borders online event hosted by Choreographic Research Aotearoa (University of Auckland) + Mapping Future Imaginaries Network (RMIT). The exhibition will be available to view online between 18th - 22nd March 2024:

I have created a tetralogy of videos loosely entitled "A re-imagined city of sound", responding to visual and sonic textures of my neighbourhood in North-East London. The series explores the relationship between body and space through fragments of embodied experience. The videos combine my paintings, drawings, videos and field recordings into a multi-layered audio-visual environment.

The event will include panel discussions and artist talks. All information is available via the website listed above.

Videos now available to see on my website - https://www.kimbalbumstead.com/projects/fragments-and-traces
